Dementia Training/Compliance
Theresa has a bachelor’s degree in Dementia Care and is currently studying post grad units in palliative care. She has many years experience, both personally and professionally, working with families of those living with a dementia diagnosis. She has also been involved with RACF’s in presenting educational sessions to families and staff and has been employed to deliver training in behavioural management and palliative care to nurses, carers and lifestyle staff.
She believes that education is key, and we can never stop learning. Theresa has a certificate IV in training and assessment and delivers training with a proactive and personal approach to your staff.
Dementia Training for Staff
Your staff are the main points of contact for residents and play an important role in developing a high level of person-centred care at all times. We know from feedback that this can be hard to maintain when expectations on deliverance of service are put in place from management and to allow for the day to day running on the facility to function effectively.
Theresa’s training in behaviour management will teach the staff effective ways to deal with behaviours, particularly in provisions of ADL’s. This in turn makes the process easier, thus allowing timeframes to still be met.
Compliance Consultancy
Maintaining compliance is a never-ending role for facility managers and their teams. The quality commission like to see external consultation being used to show a neutral party has been involved in their care practices. Theresa can come and access your current situation and provide consultation on change. She can also provide the training for staff in dementia care to meet other compliance requirements.
